Now, after the Anthropocene, a term defining a geological epoch marked by human action, we are faced with a paradox: if the ideals of reason and science that stimulate technological progress can be directly linked to environmental destruction, where do we head? What are the alternative orienting principles to reason, objectivity and rationality?

In the subjective, the fluctuating, the unstable images of ecology captured by works of art and architecture, this exhibition seeks to recover a sense of hope in the future. Divided into four sections - catastrophe, co-existence, extinction and adaptation – the exhibition rescues a critical optimism from the shadows of enlightenment.
